WU AIG WorldRisk Insurance & Travel Guard Global Assistance Services
Maybe it’s not the first thing that comes to mind when planning your trip, but uninsured travelers who encounter medical emergencies overseas often face extreme difficulties. Getting medical treatment and hospital care abroad can be very expensive, and, if you need it, a medical evacuation back to the U.S. can cost more than $50,000!
Washburn University employees, students and approved participants traveling outside of the United States on approved programs are provided International Liability Insurance coverage under Washburn University’s AIG WorldRisk policy and Global Assistance Services through Travel Guard.

Expenses incurred upon return to the territorial limits of the insured person’s country of domicile or home country of residence are not covered by this policy. Also note it is NOT Trip Cancellation Insurance. If you require trip cancellation coverage it can be purchased through online services or a travel agent.
